BF St. Baldrick's Participation

This year, Ben Franklin will again be forming a team for the annual St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser. St. Baldrick’s is the number one fundraising organization for childhood cancer outside of the U.S. government. To participate, children (adults can, too!) have the opportunity to obtain pledges then have their heads shaved on March 15, 2014, at Amalfi’s Restaurant. There is no minimum pledge amount, anyone can participate and every dollar helps.
Last year we had 34 team members and raised over $11,500. In the past three years, Team Ben Franklin has raised over $30,500!!
Please consider allowing your child to participate. If you/your child are not available to participate or are not interested but would like to support our team, feel free to purchase a “Team Ben Franklin” shirt. 100% of the proceeds of the shirt sales will go to Team Ben Franklin.
If you’d like more information or to donate to our team, go to www.stbaldricks.org/teams/BenFranklin or simply call the office.

Pictured here from left to right are: Brian Peterson, Community Resource Liaison for Mercer Street Food Bank, Rucha Gadre, Director of the Food Bank, Karen Faiman, BF PTO President, and Christopher Turnbull, Principal of Ben Franklin.

Students Change Hunger, a collaboration of the NJ Federation of Food Banks (www.studentschangehunger.org), engages and mobilizes students to learn about hunger and to take direct action to help those in their community who struggle with food hardships.

Schools within each of the food bank’s service area compete against each other, based on the size of the student population, and vie for the most pounds collected or pound$ for dollar$ as well as demonstrated spirit and creativity.

What a wonderful way for Ben Franklin students to learn about service and the impact it can have in our community!
